Swiss brand Jaeger-LeCoultre is a record holder in calibres production. Calibre is the heart of a mechanical watch, basic research of most modern watch brands are focused on its development. The thing is this masterpiece of micromechanics is the very zest, which gives modern mechanical watches advantage over quartz and electronic time measurers. In the arsenal of Jaeger-LeCoultre there are more than a thousand calibres, developed and assembled in the brand’s own factory.
Jaeger-LeCoultre has got many inventions to its credit and they have made a revolution in watchmaking. More than 400 of them are protected by patents. Many developments of the brand have become firmly established in the watch industry and are now considered integral parts of modern watches. Well, those were the founders of Jaeger-LeCoultre who first invented the winding crown, without which today any watch cannot do; another invention is fine calibres, allowing the brand to produce the thinnest watches in the world.
Watch House Jaeger-LeCoultre is also known for models of watches with high complexity. Thus in 2004 the Gyrotourbillon with biaxial tourbillon and a perpetual calendar with a dual retrograde indication was created. In 2006 the company presented the Reverso Grande Complication à Triptyque with three dials, controlled by a single calibre. And in 2009 the Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie with 26 complications was released. Today it is one of the most complex models in the world.
In the Jaeger-LeCoultre collection you can see the iconic watch Reverso with a unique case design, owing to which it freely rotates in the frame. It gives additional shock protection if the case is upside-down, with steel part out. Initially, the Reverso was developed for polo players and became classics among the representatives of this sport.
Collections Master and Master Compressor present watches of high accuracy and reliability. All models go through the series of "1000 hours test".
In the Duomètre collection you can find watches with various complications, working with a stand-alone mechanism according to the Dual-Wing technology. And in the Atmos collection there is a table clock with nearly eternal engine. Its winding is provided by an aneroid capsule with gases that react to the slightest fluctuations in temperature and pressure.
For women, Jaeger-LeCoultre offers a Rendez-Vous collection. Its models have ultimately precise mechanisms like in the Master collection, but they are placed in fine cases, decorated with nacre and precious stones.
